A real piece of American gourmandise.
1 | stick butter (¼ lb) |
1½ cups | crushed graham crackers (about 18 full crackers) |
1 can | sweetened condensed milk |
1 cup | chopped walnuts or pecans |
6 oz | chocolat and/or butterscotch chips |
1 cup | shredded coconut |
1. Melt butter and add to crumbs in 9 × 13 baking dish. Mix thoroughly and press firmly into bottom of pan.
2. Pour ½ of milk on top of crumbs. Then layer first nuts, then chips and coconut. Pour remaining milk over the coconut.
3. Bake at 350° for about 25 minutes or until begins to turn golden brown. Cool and cut into squares before mixture grows too cold to cut.
