Actually, I always make a BLAT if I can. I personally believe that the avocado is direct, irrefutable proof of the existence of a kind, wise and loving Creator.
I once had the misfortune of eating one of these with a tomato in it. What a shame, it completely missed the mark.
2 slices | bread, lightly toasted
4 slices | thin-cut bacon, well cooked and drained ahead of time
— | lettuce torn roughly to dimensions of bread
2 slices | large tomato, paper-thin
½ | avocado, wedged sliced (thin)
— | mayonnaise | |
— | salt and pepper | |
— | toothpicks for securing the sandwich (optional) |
On your work surface, lay out the bread with mayonnaise over each slice. Proceed to build in this order:
Turn the second slice mayonnaise-side down (into the sandwich) and secure with very long toothpicks (the kind with cellophane tassles made just for this purpose).
Last, cut the sandwich however desired and serve.
